The Society for European Philosophy warmly thanks Manchester Metropolitan University for hosting this year’s Annual Conference (2–4 September 2026). Special thanks go to Dr Wahida Khandker, the local organising team, and all staff, chairs, speakers, and participants who helped make the event such a success.
We are grateful to our keynote speakers — Dr Rowan Williams, Professor Judith Butler, and Dr Lea Cantor & Dr Josh Platzky Miller — for their inspiring talks, and to all presenters whose contributions made for a rich, wide-ranging, and engaging programme. The conference brought together panels across European philosophy, critical theory, phenomenology, feminist philosophy, aesthetics, psychoanalysis, political philosophy, philosophy of technology, environmental thought, and more.
Across three days, SEP 2026 explored a broad range of themes, from Hegel, Nietzsche, Adorno, Derrida, Deleuze and Guattari, to questions of sexuality, AI, ecology, care, disability, postcolonial thought, and psychoanalytic reflection. The programme included 32 panels and keynote sessions, creating an intellectually lively and collegial space for discussion.
